Our Story
Monthly Meetings: On the third Wednesday of the month, from September to June, we hold our Business meeting to:
- Share and engage members.
- Enhance Club Operations and Advocacy outreach.
- Collaborate with like-minded community organizations for a greater positive social impact.
- Have speakers from outside and from within our Club to share important info and wisdom to inspire us to be more and do more.
Community Projects: Individual Zonta clubs select, fund, and participate in projects addressing:
- Women’s economic self-sufficiency.
- Legal equity.
- Equal access to education and health.
- Call out and join hands to reduce Intimate Partner violence and gender based violence.
Mississauga Club Contributions: Since its charter in 1966, our club has:
- Contributed extensively to enhance the status of women in our community.
- Most members currently contribute 2 – 4 hours a month for:
- Club business meetings.
- Committee work in preparation for Advocacy, Service, and fundraising activities.
Service Projects: Our initiatives include:
- An annual scholarship. We want to enhance this program.
- Donations to support worthwhile charities in Mississauga.
- Recent support for the Elizabeth Fry Society and Our Place Peel Youth Shelter in Mississauga.
What We Do
Scholarship & Awards
The Zonta Club of Mississauga offers a ZontaPreneur Award annually. We will make some changes to improve outreach in 2025-26.
Advocacy
16 Days of Advocacy – Zonta Says No – To Violence Against Women. We celebrate International Womens’ Day on March 8. This is part of a worldwide initiative.
Global Impact
The Zonta Foundation for Women has become 40 years old in 2025. International service projects approved by delegates at our Biennial International Convention are delivered via UN Women. Advocacy is an ongoing project.

In such a world, women have access to all resources for personal and community development. They are represented in decision making positions on an equal basis with men. In such a world, no woman lives in fear of violence.
Founded in 1919 in Buffalo, New York, Zonta Internationial has grown to include more than 1,200 clubs in 66 countries with more than 26,000 members.
